This event I was able to get Charioteer to the table. A fantastic game about racing your chariot in the arena in front of a fickle crowd and Caesar. Players simultaneously select cards to play that determine not only the speed you travel but also the action you take. Do you focus on taking the corner, skipping spaces as you do? Or do you attack your opponents, slowing them down? All the while trying to improve your skills in each of these action types, increasing the speed you can go while doing them. Do the right action, and you might even earn Caesars favour, gaining extra experience in that action.
Talita, Oakley and I raced our chariots, attacked each other and had a blast. We got a few rules wrong, that only sped up the game a little but had a great time. Charioteer will definitely be making it into the regular rotation of the games I bring along.
SETI
After that Talita, Tim, Josh and I got SETI to the table. What is now a regular for me. This was Josh’s first game and he managed to come away with the WIN. This was a fast game as we only had 2.5h including the teach for Josh so it was rapid fire. Everyone at the table did a great job of planning their turns in advance as much as possible. Talita was very happy to once again get the promo Pluto card, while it didn’t get played it is always nice to see it get drawn.
