Established in 2021, the Coastal Board Gamers Annual Awards recognise the efforts and contributions of individual members who have shown excellence in the core values of Coastal Board Gamers. Recipients have gone above and beyond to aid the growth of CBG and support it’s goals. 

Nominations are open for the 2024 CBG Awards.  These will be presented at the upcoming Awards Dinner.

The Matt Leacock Award

For outstanding Support and Cooperation

Matt Leacock is known as the designer of famous cooperative games such as Pandemic, Forbidden Island, Forbidden Desert, Pandemic Legacy and others.  These games encourage players to work together to achieve a common goal, focusing on cooperation over competition.  To succeed players must share decision making and support each other.


The recipient of this award has promoted cooperation during Coastal Board Gamers events and supported activities that have been fun for others.

The Scott Almes Award

For an outstanding unsung hero

Scott Almes is known for designing many Tiny Epic games such as Tiny Epic Galaxies, Zombies, Dinosaurs and Pirates.  These titles contain a lot of game in a small unassuming package.

 

 

The recipient of this award has consistently attended events, demonstrated dedication to Coastal Board Gamers mission and has been willing to step in and help out.

The Alan R. Moon Award

For outstanding Reception and Inclusion

Alan R. Moon is the designer of Ticket to Ride, known as one of the biggest Gateway games.  Gateway games are board games that are simple, accessible, and most likely to provide enjoyment to new players and non-gamers. These games are above your basic, average board game and will provide a level of interest that will intrigue a player to want to come back for more.

 

 

The recipient of this award has consistently welcomed new players at Coastal Board Gamers events and included them in the activities of the club.
