A relaxing night of post-apocalyptic racing and forest warfare were on the cards for this great CBG event. Surrounded by relaxing wanderings through the East Sea Road and the exploring the Santorini shoreline. What a mix of games!

Josh, Talita and I setup Root early while Penny maned the door welcoming our attendees. This time there was a debate over which map to play, the regular maps of the Lake and Winter Forest were ruled out, Talita said she played the original too many times to it was decided the map that we played the least was up, The Mountain. For those not familiar with Root, the maps is made up of paths, clearings and forests. The Mountain map has some of its paths covered in the beginning and you need to discard a card to clear them. For this reason, this is Penny’s least favoured map.
During setup Haydn arrived and joined the table, with that we knew the hijinks was going to be at maximum. We drafted our forest clans, resulting in a table of Corvid, Cats, Lizard Cult, Eyrie and a Thief Vagabond. With that we were off to conquer the forest.
We had a great time back and forth and it was a very close game all the way to the end. It was only in the final round were clever play and turn order determined the victor, three of us were poised for victory but Josh and his Thief managed to get over the line first and claim dominance over the forest.
Thunder Road
At the other end of the room, Dave, Zac, Carl and John were battling it out in Thunder Road. Having a blast racing down their Mad Max style track, doing their best to destroy each others team of cars and trucks to claim victory. A dice rolling action selection game Fury Road always hits the table well and can draw a crowd quickly. The crazy antics and stories that come from the action packed combat racer are always entertaining.
