Event #119 Wrap Up

Games on the first Saturday in June were a lot of fun.  I played Clinic: Deluxe Edition with Jimmy, Maurice and Zac.  You can see my 3-level hospital above, with its doctors, nurses, orderlies and some of the cars that belong to them.  Each player builds their own clinics, hires staff, and treats patients. This has to be done while managing car parking and finance – rooms must be cleaned and staff expect to be paid.  Moving staff and patients into position earns movement points that subtract from your final score, so it is important to build as efficiently as possible.  Thanks for teaching us Jimmy, I have been thinking about how I could run a better clinic next time 😉

Here are all the games we played:

Critter Kitchen
Flip 7
Escape Plan
The Quest for El Dorado
Heat: Pedal to the Metal
Spirit Island
Terra Nova
Clinic: Deluxe Edition
Labyrinth
Fire Tower
Pyramido
Fort
Moon River
Bomb Busters
The Crew: Mission Deep Sea

Game Report from Mel

Thanks everyone for another great CBG event. Here’s an update on the Meeple Chronicles:

Cliff, Jimmy, Narelle and I kicked off episode two of our Meeple Chronicles campaign tonight: Raiders of the North Sea, with both the Hall of Heroes and Fields of Fame expansions.

It started with Narelle receiving the catchup mechanic for being in last place from our first episode, Stone Age: ‘The Widow’s Weft – 1 additional silver coin, 1 provision and 1 armour.

The ‘take thats’ started early in the game with Narelle taking 2 coins from Jimmy in the first round that he had literally just acquired. While Jimmy promised to get Narelle back for that, his approach in a later round left both Cliff and I in debit a provision along with Narelle, much to our dismay. I got my own back in later round however, when I acquired not 1 but 2 meddlers capable of stealing a card of choice on other players. Given both Narelle and Jimmy had cards I wanted, I took what were arguably their most valuable card each for my own crew.

It was in vain though as sadly I took out the wooden spoon this episode with 50 points, netting me a singular Meeple Chronicle (MC) point. I was not far behind Jimmy on 54 points, gaining 3 MC points, who himself fell just shy of second place which went to Cliff on 56 points, receiving 6 MC points. However it was Narelle who took out a convincing win with 66 points, netting herself 10 MC points.

This places Jimmy in 4th place on 6 MC points, Narelle and I are tied in 2nd place on 11 MC points, and the ever consistent Cliff with his second 2nd place for the campaign is leading on 12 MC points. Well done, Cliff. Try not to feel too sad for Jimmy though, as he will receive the catchup mechanic for our next episode: Paladins of the West Kingdom. Watch this space.
